Menopause Relief
How to get menopause relief when everything else either doesn’t work or is just too darned overwhelming to even try.
The way women experience menopause symptoms varies from one individual to another, as does the way in which we find menopause relief as well. This is due to many factors, some of which, such as genes, cannot be changed. However, there are things that we can adopt, adapt or avoid, and they can influence both the symptoms of menopause you may experience and the way you approach this time of change.
Menopause can be a time when we may be left in no doubt of the harm certain habits do to our bodies and our outlook on life. It can be very empowering to take control of a habit and experience the positive effects on your menopause relief , your body and overall well-being.
Caffeine
This is a central nervous system stimulant - meaning it stimulates the brain - and is found in tea, coffee, caffeinated drinks such as cola, and chocolate. Moderate amounts of caffeine (less than about 400 mg per day) are thought to be acceptable. However, larger amounts can be associated with undesirable effects, including headaches, anxiety, irritability and having heart palpitations (being aware of the heartbeat, which may be rapid). Frequent urination may also occur as caffeine is a diuretic. Problems sleeping, in particular getting to sleep, may also occur.
A high intake of caffeine can cause dependence, with symptoms such as headaches, fatigue, anxiety, and even feelings of drowsiness occurring if caffeine is stopped. If you are taking in more than 400 mg of caffeine per day, you may want to cut down - you should feel some menopause relief very quickly if you were a heavy coffee drinker.
Alcohol
Alcohol has a range of effects, both mental and physical. Small amounts may provide benefits in terms of protecting against coronary artery disease and strokes. However, larger amounts can cause many detrimental effects.
Alcohol is absorbed from the stomach and small intestine into the bloodstream. It is then transported to the liver where it is broken down either to be used as energy or to be stored as fat. Some is also exhaled when we breathe out.
How quickly alcohol is broken down depends on a number of factors, including our weight and whether we have recently eaten.
Again, if you are consuming more than the recommend number of units on a weekly basis, cutting your intake down will definitely bring some menopause relief relatively quickly.
